International Workshop: Indefinites in Discourse Structure (2014)

The Workshop on „Indefnites in Discourse Structure“ (RED 2014), is a follow up of the Workshops "Reference and Discourse Structure" (Stutgart, 2010), "Indefinites and Beyond“ (Göttingen, 2011) and "Indefinites in Discourse“ (Cologne, 2013) held on 27-28 June, 2014 in Cologne.

The workshop invited contributions to different kinds of indefinites and their semantic and pragmatic effects on discourse structure. Abstracts were invited for 20 minute talks (plus 10 minutes for discussion) on topics dealing with the semantics and pragmatics of indefinite NPs with respect to discourse structure, discourse development and context.

Workshop format

On the first day will be a regular conference with talks, while the second day will have a different format. We plan to organise discussion groups around 2 or 3 dedicated topics identified on the first day.
